Yundi Li to make Carnegie Hall recital debut

NEW YORK: Yundi Li will be making his Carnegie Hall recital debut earlier than planned when he steps in for Murray Perahia on April 3. Li will perform Liszt’s Sonata in B minor as well as selections from his acclaimed Vienna Recital album (CD 477 5571), including the Mozart Sonata in C major, K. 330 and Schumann’s Carnaval.

Following the New York Times announcement last weekend, tickets for Yundi Li’s Carnegie performance sold out in less than three days. Carnegie Hall is now selling stage seats to accommodate the exceptional demand – the first time the venue has done so since Yevgeny Kissin’s recital debut.
